Transurban: Drive To Donate
Alexandria, VA — Transurban, one of the world’s largest toll-road operators and developers of the 495, 95 and 395 Express Lanes, invites commuters to start their day on the 395 Express Lanes to join a “Drive to Donate” event on November 17. The event marks two years since the opening of the 395 Express Lanes and continues Transurban’s commitment to partnering with the community and supporting organizations that create positive and lasting change.
WHAT: A “Drive to Donate” event supporting two integral organizations, the National 9/11 Pentagon Memorial and Northern Virginia Family Service. For every trip taken on the 395 Express Lanes, $2 will be donated to local nonprofits.
WHEN: Wednesday, November 17, midnight to midnight
WHERE: On the 395 Express Lanes
HOW: To participate, all drivers need to do is take the 395 Express Lanes as they normally do, using an E-ZPass® properly mounted in their vehicle or use a mobile tolling app like GoToll.
WHY: Transurban and its customers are dedicated to the long-term success of the Greater Washington Area. This event is an opportunity to give back to organizations that work tirelessly in the community and whom Transurban has partnered with before, as part of its decade-long community grants and sponsorship program.
Since 2019, the 395 Express Lanes have delivered on the promise of improved travel choices, picking up where the 95 Express Lanes leave off and giving drivers a seamless trip to the D.C. line. The 395 Express Lanes have served over 1.1 million customers since opening, saving them a total of approximately 1.5 million hours.
