Pentagon Memorial Construction Timeline
The Pentagon’s Washington Headquarters Service (WHS) had overall responsibility for the construction of the Memorial, with the Pentagon Renovation & Construction Program Office (PENREN) serving as the construction agent and providing overall project management support. The Pentagon awarded a contract to design and build the Pentagon Memorial to Centex-Lee, LLCĀ in August of 2003. Centex-Lee, along with its subcontractors, was responsible for completing all design and construction activities for the Pentagon Memorial. During the contract, Centex Lee was acquired by Balfour Beatty, PLC.
The Pentagon Memorial Fund is very grateful to Chris Hartzler, Senior Project Manager for Balfour Beatty, and to PENREN for sharing the photographs that make up the Constructution Timeline.
